Ways Of Getting To The Airport
Here you can see price comparison of different ways of getting to the airport from Reykjavík. If you are going with a bus to the airport I recommend picking Grayline as they are the cheapest and most conveniently located in the city centre. If you are traveling many together it might pay off taking a private transfer.
Flybus
One way ticket to the airport from BSÍ bus terminal in Reykjavík is 3.490 ISK/ 25 EUR/ 29 USD. The BSÍ bus terminal is just outside the city center so if you are walking there from your hotel it is at least 10 minutes walking distance but in most cases a 20-40 minute walk. If you want to be picked up from your hotel the price goes up to 4.599 ISK/ 33 EUR/ 38 USD.
45 minute ride.

Grayline Airport Transfer
Grayline departs from Bus Stop nr. 6 in the city centre. One way ticket to the airport costs 2.838 ISK/ 20 EUR/ 23 USD. If you want to be picked up from your hotel the price goes up to 3.405 ISK/ 24 EUR/ 27 USD. But if you go directly to Bus Stop nr. 6 or Bus Stop nr. 13 then you don’t have to pay the pick up fee. Those two bus stops are conveniently located in the city so your hotel might be pretty close to either one of those stops.

Airport Direct
Airport Direct departs from Reykjavík Terminal which is quite a ways out from the city center. If you are walking there from your hotel it is probably at least 20 minute walking distance but in most cases a 30-60 minute walk. One way ticket to the airport costs 2.990 ISK/ 21 EUR/ 24 USD. If you want to be picked up from your hotel the price goes up to 3.990 ISK/ 28 EUR/ 32 USD.

Taxi
Taxis in Iceland are very expensive so I don’t recommend this option unless you are in a hurry. Price to get to the airport will probably range from 17-20.000 ISK/120 EUR/ 140 USD. Ask the taxi driver about the price before departure. Don’t accept anything over 20.000 ISK.
Public Bus (Strætó)
The cheapest option at 1.960 ISK/ 14 EUR/ 16 USD. You will most likely have to change bus one time on the way out of the capital area. Click here and input where you need to depart from (your hotel or closest bus stop) and where you need to go (KEF Airport) as well as the time when you need to go and it will give you a departure and arrival time. The bus stops in front of the departure hall. On average the trip will take 70-90 minutes.
Private Transfer
If you are traveling many together it might make sense to book a private transfer.
Here are price examples of a group of 5 people including pick up from your hotel. If you are less then 5 the price will be a little bit higher but if you are more than 5 the price will be lower.
